out of touch, and a link
Posted by wife under administrative
Some stuff’s been going on here at Chez Wife that has made the whole Housewifery thing take a back seat to Every Other Thing. Some of it’s business, some of it’s not-so-business, and some of it’s been just a big dose of the Crazymaking.
Either way, I’ve been absent. And my house shows it. So do my relationships, husband included.
However, things are starting to cool down a bit, both literally and figuratively (we can haz autumn now, plz?), and thus, I’m beginning the big Fall Spruce-Up around here.
Generally speaking, I clean more in the autumn than I do in the Spring, because a) it’s cooler outside (FINALLY), but b) there are still too many bugs outside for me to be out there without looking all poxy after five minutes. Spring, on the other hand, is cool, has no bugs to vex me, and lasts about three minutes here in the midwest, so instead of cleaning, I enjoy the heck out of those three minutes instead.
Works for me.
Anyway, I have a link to share.
Batch cooking is one of those things that I’d love to do more often, especially considering that we’ve been eating nasty fast food for the past two months and both the body and the budget are starting to feel the strain. I found this menu, which is made for families with kids, but can be easily adapted for a smaller family, from Small Notebook, which might be my new favorite blog evar. Just sayin’.
Back to cleaning. We have a house full of visitors and guests all week long, and I’m trying to get the house to a place where visitors won’t be attacked by dog hair just for walking through the door. ![]()

Liz, you are too kind. Thank you.
I’ve been in vacation mode this past month, and now I’ve really got my work cut out for me to get back into Fall. I’ll be cleaning right along with you.
